Embroidery in a Wallet - an upcycled embroidery-on-the-go tote

Well, it's not HUGELY upcycled. It was mostly a matter of looking at all the pockets in the wallet and deciding if I could fit the requisite tools inside.

But I did add a pincushion by cutting out a clear vinyl ID window and sliding it into the section to pop up. It's just a piece of cardboard wrapped in fabric and stuffed with wool fleece.

What do you think? Scissors, threads, needles, and stitch guide. That's all I need except for the actual hooped fabric. Ready for embroidery on the road, by the beach, or at the cafe.

And the answer is yes. I use tiny applique sharps to embroider with when I use only 1 or 2 strands. Which is often.

What's in your wallet?
